Sailing group names officers

The Everett Sail and Power Squadron recently celebrated its 70th annual Change of Watch ceremony. Outgoing officers were celebrated for their accomplishments, and incoming officers were welcomed by members, friends and family members.

New officers include Gary Baker, Commander; Frank Havens, Executive Officer; Chris Brown, Educational Officer; John Tarpley, Treasurer; Randy Krumm, Secretary; and Linda Martin, outgoing Commander and incoming Assistant Educational Officer.

This spring, the local nonprofit boating group received a national award for its Civic Service, and a first-place Outstanding Growth Award from the United States Power Squadrons. The group offers boating safety classes and other services to the community.
